Oh Influenster, How I love the! (REVIEW OF #COLORSHIELD VOXBOX)

Good day all!

I’ve got another Influenster VoxBox to review at this point. I need to point out, these are products I receive complimentary for the sake of review. I love a good deal, so I try to get on board with as many of these as possible!

This time the products are Garnier Fructis Color Shield line.

Requested Photo, Products and Number one hair enemy!

I’ve came to love these products! They are easily just as good as the salon products (Scent, Protection, Weight, etc.) with a MUCH better price and value. I always looked down on these drugstore shampoos for some reason, AND I DON’T KNOW WHY I WAS SUCH A SHAMPOO SNOB! I absolutely adore these products. I have VERY thick, course hair and a lot of products leave my hair feeling very weighted and heavy. (Not to mention Greasy, Ick!)

Color Shield is actually a really good line. I’ve been torn lately between shampoo for length or color protection. It’s always a tough choice. This makes my not always so shiny blonde highlights pop compared to when I use my length and strength hair care line.

Point is, I’m a huge fan.

Thanks to Garnier and Influenster for the opportunity to test these awesome products!

PS. 40 Days until the Wedding! More wedding posts to come soon, including many DIY’s!

Motivation: Thy Name is Make-Up

So, it’s been awhile since I’ve posted. (Sorry!)
But I realize that sorry is for myself, not you. As I have few followers, so I just wanted to make things up by posting.

I have had a revelation earlier.
I decided one thing I really would like but can’t easily afford to just buy anytime was a new Urban Decay “Naked 3” Palette of eye shadows.

I’ve decided to reward myself for losing weight with this (Win-Win!) In the short term I would like to lose 15 lbs before my wedding, So I will reward myself by putting $5 per pound lost in my savings to use when I purchase this item.

Stay tuned!

Nail’d it!

A few weeks ago, I received a complimentary VoxBox from influenster, containing two sets of BroadWay Nails imPress Manicures.

I was slightly reluctant to test the product initially because I had been growing my natural nails out and this meant I had to cut them, but being adventurous for the cause of fashion and beauty, I took the plunge and trimmed them down.I received a set of Short Zebra tips, and hot pink leopard print.I wasn’t willing to go super short, so the leopard print it was.

It took me some time to get them ready, as the numbers on the back are tiny, so it’s hard to line up sizes. Once that was done, I had to peel the stickers off of the back so they would apply. It took longer than I would’ve liked it to, as the nail is hard, but has some softness about it, causing it to slightly bend when the sticker was being peeled. Once applied I only had to file down the tips, and this was hard to do, as it did take some of the design with it from where it was painted.

Once they were on, they looked great! Such an intricate design would’ve taken forever to do by hand. In fact, if I had done them myself, they probably would’ve looked like this:

But alas, with the imPress manicure, no muss no fuss! Just great shiny nails for 7 days!

Here was the finished product:

As a bride to be, I feel naked not having my nails done, since everyone ALWAYS asks to see the bling.

Heavy is my heart.

A forewarning, this is not the fluffy stuff I usually write about:

Living in New Brunswick, Canada, you never expect anything to happen here. It’s a pretty boring, safe place to be. In fact, it’s such a boring spot, there is literally nothing that happens here. This is the province that gets skipped by 90% of touring artists, who will put on a concert in Quebec and then skip right on over to Nova Scotia. I live in a small town, my home town is so small, when I meet people I have to pick a neighboring town to reference since no one knows where it actually is. Moncton, New Brunswick is 2.5 hours away from my home.

To say the least, the events that unfolded on June 4, 2014 are very much unexpected and incredibly tragic.

I shared on my Facebook page earlier my thoughts on the subject of what is unfolding this evening:

Unbelievable. I never thought anything like this would happen so close to home. I pray that this person is caught and served swift justice before anyone else is harmed. I pray for everyone affected by this tragedy. I pray for everyone in the city of Moncton, and so thankful for the brave men and women of the RCMP who risk their lives to keep us all safe.

This person is a monster. I truly feel for all those affected. Honestly, it’s all that is in my Facebook news feed tonight, and I am SICK of seeing his face all over the page. I understand that he has not been caught yet, and a certain level of awareness needs to be raised to catch him, but I also had seen a fan page for this villanous human being… a FAN PAGE?! This man deserves no praise or glory for the crimes he is committing. I hope this will all be over before I wake up, but I felt that I had to take a moment to post a few thoughts:

  • Firstly, law enforcement is being targeted. I will admit, they can feel like a nuisance from time to time, when you’re speeding, etc. But when something like this happens, it truly makes you appreciate the fact that there are brave men and women out there right now putting their lives on the line to keep us safe. I am so thankful to have the RCMP watching out for all of us.
  • Secondly, I feel for the friends and families of the RCMP officers lost and injured on the job tonight, words can not express what these people are going through and my thoughts and prayers are with them.
  • and finally, I have several friends and family members in that area, and the reassurance of knowing they are safe in their homes is the most comforting thing right now.

Life is unfair, and short in some cases. It’s a mystery and you never know what is going to come of it.

Hold your loved ones extra close tonight, I know I will be.
